Whats shakin' Australien massive?

For years now Ive been wanting to head down under to get buck wild out in the bush, having met lots of kind Aussies here in Japan at various festivals and hearing remarkable things. Anyway, Im going to be heading into Brisbane a little before new years and was wondering if anyone is planning to go to Freakreation? Regrowth '07

Regrowth is a gathering of the tribes and a weekend of intention.

Our focus is creating a happy, creative community space where we can raise awareness, give back to nature, share music, dance and ideas.

Regrowth will take place from sunset on friday 13th to sunset sunday 15th April on our very special site in the Southern Highlands, high on top of a mountain with amazing 270 degree views of surrounding gorges, National Parks and other tasty delights. It is one of the most picturesque festival sites in Australia.

The tree planting tally for R.E.G.E.N has reached a massive 41,900 and at Regrowth '07 we are aiming to continue the important revegetation works at the site by adding another 12,000 to the total.

The festival will be a multi staged event with a coming together of the tribes from various music genres and crews. Elixer will be providing a chill stage, Figure8 will be staging live bands and DJs in the Jollywood dome, BODEGA will be hosting dj's and live electronica, and Roots R I will be providing us with an organic dub space.

The 'Roque Horror Show' - outdoor cinema will be displaying a vast array of twisted short animations, mind stimulating movies and thought provoking documentaries.

Workshops will be taking place throughout the day on saturday to share, educate and stimulate.

Kundelicious will once again be providing tasty affordable vegetarian cuisine.

There is plenty of flat comfortable camping space. It's a good idea to bring your own shade as the trees haven't quite grown tall enough yet.

Tickets are at the rock bottom price of just $25 available at the gate on the night.

Next Saturday the 9th December, check out this Mountains bush party, with experimental music muso's from the Blue Mountains, Sydney and Melbourne, System Corrupt dj's, whacked out films, playing all night long.

These are the basic instructions to get to the venue,
Flat Top.

Driving from Sydney follow the Great Western Highway
up to the Blue mountains until you reach Leura which
is the suburb before Katoomba.
When you see the overpass take the left exit until you
reach the roundabout, off the roundabout do a U-turn
and head back towards Sydney. Take the first left at
Leura Primary School. This is Mt Hay Rd. Follow Mt Hat
Rd for 20 mins to reach the venue.

Mt Hay Rd is sealed, then goes into a gravel section
and then a dirt road. It looks like they've done some
work to the dirt road so any normal car should be able
to drive on it. Follow Mt hay Rd until you reach a
small car park.

There is only room for about three cars so people will
need to park along the road. Flat Top is a five minute
walk along a dirt track up the hill. it would be best
to bring up equipment in the daylight although pretty
easy to bring up a small amount of stuff when dark.
There are not many trees on top of the mountain and it
is fairly exposed.

Medlow Bath in case of bad weather.

Environmental Awareness

Hey People:

I'm not sure what kinds of wildlife you have over there but recently one of the gatherings I attend experienced the grievous loss of an owl.

The music was on non-stop for three days at a rather loud level (quite a bit to the displeasure of several attendees) and we believe this is what killed it. Owls depend on their hearing to hunt and they depend on the moisture in what they capture to keep hydrated.

I'm posting this here just to give you a heads up so that none of you should have to endure the grief of having any creature die during your event.

I have been to a few burningmans. but after moving back to singapore its a very very time consuming effort...i think i am taking a break this year from blackrock. anyway. i know there are good events in australia... what would you recommend?

i am not looking for just a commercial party...but one that lasts longer than an all nighter...even a week! with good vibes, good art and an explosion of creativity, and set out in middle of nowhere... any suggestions? i have been looking at earthdance... any others?

Greetings bush doofers!

Just wanted to say hello to everyone and introduce myself...Melissa C., to all of you. My boyfriend and I will be freeing ourselves from the United States and staying in the Byron Bay/Billinudgel area through our good friend, Jerry. Jerry has been telling us some really great stories about the doofs that have been taking place in that area and how great Electric Forest is and the pictures would support how much our partying adventures have been fun here State-side, but how much we still have to learn and grow from our international trancers.

We should be arriving Sept. 29th, just in time to deposit our personals and meet you on the dance floor for the October 1st Long Weekend (what a great first party) and I love to dance I just hope I can shake enough of the jetlag off to keep up with everyone.

an argument that is going up in the sydney scean at the mo is the to many partys is burning every one out

i myself have been suffering from over doing it burnout latly
and need a major break

but also what ive noticed is a lot of the spiritual energy of bush partys has been missing
both from the music and from the people as well
is this a result from pushing the partys to much or are we goign to psy partys for diffrent resons now than when we started?? this is a change ive seen over the last 4 yrs
